Albuquerque Public Schools has a district wide fine policy for all middle schools. Library books may be checked out for 21 days. After 21 days the books are overdue, and will start accruing fines. Fines are five cents per day until the fine reaches $1.00. When students have three books with fines on them they will not be able to check out any more books. Fines may be paid to the librarian when the books are brought back to the library.
